Cumbria Oak is ‘Cumbria’s Local Furniture Store’

We sell quality, handcrafted oak furniture, as well as rugs, pictures, clocks and décor items.

We have had a our store in Plumpton, near Penrith for 15 years and are proud to serve customers who return time and again to add further pieces to their homes. We opened our second smaller shop in Kendal in 2012 due to demand, allowing those to the south of our region to have an in person look at some of our pieces before making the longer journey to our main showroom.

Our main store is just 4 miles north of Penrith town centre, straight up the A6, or only a couple of miles from J41 of the M6.

We have a large warehouse store within The Pot Place (Garden Centre), where there is ample parking, and a very cosy tea shop selling hot and cold snacks and some lovely homemade cakes!

If you’re travelling to visit the store and see all of our furniture ranges in one place, why not make the most of your trip and see what Penrith itself has to offer?

Penrith is a historic market town serving the wider community of outlying villages up and down the Eden Valley and has always held an important role in the county.

Within the heart of the town itself you’ll find the 14th century ruins of Penrith Castle, an imposing red sandstone structure surrounded by the lovely gardens of Castle Park. Down the hill is the popular 16th century St Andrew’s church, set in a beautiful courtyard just off the main thoroughfare. Within the church grounds you can find ancient tombstones known as the Giants Grave, dating back as far as the 10th century.

Overlooking Penrith is the wooded Beacon Edge – worth a climb for the fabulous views westwards to the peaks of the Lake District. The National Park boundary lies just 3 miles from Penrith, and the nearest of the Lakes is Ullswater at just a little over 5 miles away.
